Before Watching Today's episode, I have two questions in my mind, What's the end game plan of Chuck, and how today's episode will pave a way for the finale. The writers of today's episode Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner were almost answered both of them in this episode.

First of all, take a bow to the team for bracing up the Covid Situation and shooting the final episodes. The proceedings in this episode, as we get to see the social distancing is evidently visible and cleverly incorporated in scenes. The story picks up right from where it ended in the previous episode. Both Winchesters didn't have time to mourn for their loved ones as they were the only humans who survived Chuck's Snap (Sorry Thanos). Dean had to reveal Sam and Jack about Castiel's ultimate Sacrifice. With the help of Death's book about god's ending, they now had to team up with the archangel Michael and take on God.

I really loved the writing in the recent episodes starting from episode 16, they started to build up scenes in such a way that they are finishing with all guns blazing. This episode could have been the series finale we all wanted. But both Jensen and Jared mentioned in many of their interviews that episode 19 is the season finale and episode 20 is the series finale. In one of the scenes, Chuck responds “For the first time I have no idea what happens next,” Even I too felt the same as all my ending theories were touched in this episode.

Liked:

  1. That special guest appearance by a fan favorite baddie,

  2. The whole fight sequence with Chuck,

  3. The montage song at the end of the episode.

My only problem is whether they can pull off an ending which is more satisfying than the Swan song. Even the Inherit the Earth can be deemed as a fitting finale for the arch of God vs Winchesters.

I am eagerly and nervously waiting for the finale, and how the Saga of Winchesters will end. Is it a teary heartbreak or a beautiful conclusion, we will find out the answer in the next 7 days.

My Rating: ****
