Adipurush Review: Grandeur Mythological Saga of Lord Rama

Director: Om Raut

Producers: Om Raut, Bhushan Kumar, Prasad Sutar, Krishan Kumar

Music by: Score: Sanchit Balhara; Ankit Balhara;

Songs: Ajay-Atul; Sachet–Parampara.

Cast: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage.

Language: Telugu

THEATRE: AMC EMPIRE 25

It is a mammoth task to mount the mythological and historical canvas of the epic Ramayana on screen and tell the whole story within a limited duration. Om Raut and his team had succeeded in capturing the essence in their own way with Adipurush, although shady and jarred VFX had decremented their efforts to some extent.

In terms of acting Pan Indian Superstar Prabhas once again proved that when it comes to Royalty none can match him. He portrayed the character with a perfect aura. Kriti Sanon too excelled in her role, especially in the emotional scenes. Sunny Singh, Devadutta Nage too delivered standout performances. Saif Ali Khan's performance went out of sync due to the sub-par vfx as it subdued the overall effect.

Om Raut packed a punch after delivering a blockbuster like Tanhaji. Although the graph of direction and story went down during the climax, still he deliveredana overall satisfying product. Ajay-Atul's songs were chartbusters, and so was the background music by Sanchit Balhara, and Ankit Balhar. Dialogues by Manoj Muntashir and Bheem Srinivas (Telugu Adaptation) worked big time.

Liked:

Performances,

Songs and BGM,

First Half,

Elevation Scenes (Especially scenes of Hanuman ji).

Disliked:

Stretchy and ineffective climax fight,

Tacky VFX in a few shots.

Overall Adipurush is a Grandeur experience that needs to be experienced on a large screen (especially a 3d one). The film really worked well for me as I will be watching it again for Prabhas and the Songs.

My Rating: 3.75 / 5
