The Flash Season 4 Episode 16 "Run Iris Run" Review

Warning : Potential Spoilers Ahead.

Star Cast :

Regular - Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Hartley Sawyer, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, and Tom Cavanagh.

Guest - Leonardo Nam.

Direction : Harry Jierjian.

After a heavy and edgy episode, The Flash is back on the entertainment format with Run Iris Run as we witness Iris West who becomes a speedster in one of the best episodes of the season 4 we've seen in recent times.

Team Flash continues their hunt for the remaining Bus Metas, in order to save them from the Devoe. They confront a new bus meta, Matthew AKA Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), who can swap people's DNA. When Iris and Barry turn up to ask Kim a few questions, he accidentally removes Barry's speed away and gives it to Iris. Inspired by Thawne, Harrison Wells develops his own thinker cap though it was disapproved by Cisco. Another Metahuman with fire powers terrorizes the city, and now with the new superspeed and extensive training under the guidance of Barry. Iris created a tidal wave to stop him.

One of the best parts of the episode is the whole the action sequences of Iris, from being an amateur speedster to saving the city. The entire dynamics of the team is changed since the premise of the season 4 as we no longer get to see Cisco as the bumbling sidekick to the team. The chemistry between him and Harry is appeared to be better in recent times.

Liked :

1. Run Iris Run,

2. The thinking cap scene,

3. The final scene between Barry and Iris.

Disliked :

1. Some of the scenes appeared to be stretchy,

2. No show from Devoe.

After a thrilling ride of "Enter Flashtime," the showrunners again shifted their gears towards static episode like Run Iris Run. Now the details about the next two bus metahumans are revealed, I am looking forward to the next big move from the Clifford Devoe.
