The Flash Season 4 Episode 4 " Elongated Journey into Night " Review

Warning : Potential Spoilers Ahead.

Star Cast :

Regular - Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, and Tom Cavanagh.

Guest - Jessica Camacho, Danny Trejo, and Danny Trejo.

Direction : Tom Cavanagh.

This week's episode "Elongated Journey into Night", 2 new characters were introduced into the CW's Arrowverse. Breacher and Ralph Dibny a.k.a Elongated Man. As the teasers imply about the not so good relationship between Barry and Ralph this episode also showcases the cat and mouse chase between Cisco and Breacher (Who happens to be Gypsy's Dad).

Directed by Tom Cavanagh, who earlier helmed the fiery "The Once and Future Flash" in season 3. This episode strikes the perfect balance between the elements of fun and humor. Right from the opening sequence under the Matrix poster to the introduction of Ralph Dibny as the dirty detective the flow is fabulous.

This season every episode of The Flash stand out of its own with a unique defining moment/character in it. Danny Trejo typically plays himself as the overprotective father of Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). The writers were quick and neat in shifting between the subplots which ensured the entertaining result.

Liked :

1. The Demonstration of Elongated man's powers.

2. The CG work during the final fight,

3. Breacher and Cisco's Chemistry.

4. Dialogue referring Hemsworth,

5. Sticking to the original comic book relation between Ralph and Barry.

Disliked :

1. The Pacing of the episode,

2. The Cliche way of revealing a mystery about the main villain.

3. The whole Mayor thread which was irrelevant and act as a speed breaker.

Just the moments before the ending Ralph reveals some information about DeVoe who was mentioned twice by Savitar and Abra Kadabra. Except this sequence which follows the routine way of revealing the baddies every thing was perfect.

My Rating : My Rating for Today's Episode is 3.5/5
